Getting to Corolla and Duck
There is no bridge from the Currituck mainland to the Currituck beaches. The drive from KONX to Corolla goes south on US-158, across the Wright Memorial Bridge, then north on NC-12 — about 50 miles and well over an hour, longer in season. Duck is about 40 miles, an hour or so. If Corolla or Duck is the destination and you don’t need fuel or a long runway, First Flight Airport (KFFA) in Kill Devil Hills is closer by road: about 28 miles to Corolla and 13 to Duck. Rental cars or 4x4 delivery from local outfitters are the easiest options. For travelers heading to Kill Devil Hills or Nags Head, First Flight Airport (KFFA) or Dare County Regional (KMQI) may be closer.
